Project Description:
The public transport plan (Nahverkehrsplan) of the Alb-Donau District is a key planning instrument for the organisation and further development of public transport. It defines the framework for transport services and provides the basis for the strategic development of public transport within the district.

As part of the update of the public transport plan, we were responsible for the substantive, tabular and cartographic preparation of the baseline assessment. This included the collection and processing of data on spatial structures, including population development, employment distribution and commuting patterns, as well as a systematic assessment of the existing public transport system covering network structure, service provision and demand.

We structured the information in clear tables to illustrate developments over recent years as well as relevant locations and facilities. In addition, we prepared cartographic representations to visualise spatial relationships and transport flows within the district, including maps of settlement structures, commuting patterns, school transport and the hierarchy of the public transport network.

The results of the baseline assessment provided the technical basis for the further planning and adaptation of public transport services to current and future requirements in the Alb-Donau District.
