The POS Nord high-speed line (Paris–Eastern France–Southern Germany) is being progressively equipped with modern signalling and control technology along the corridor. At Schifferstadt interlocking, this upgrade closes a remaining gap: the existing Siemens SpDrS60 relay interlocking is being replaced by a remote electronic interlocking and connected to the Neustadt sub-control centre.

We are preparing the operational requirements specification (Betriebliche Aufgabenstellung, BAst) in accordance with the applicable regulations and defining the operational requirements for the interlocking renewal. Prior to this, we carried out the associated feasibility study, including the decision document for closing the remaining gap, thereby establishing the basis for selecting the preferred option.

The project focuses on the compliant derivation of operational requirements, the connection of the ESTW-A to the Neustadt UZ and an operationally viable migration while maintaining ongoing railway operations.
